Citizens Police Academy
Galveston Police Online
The Galveston Police Department sponsors the Citizen's Police Academy, and the purpose of this Academy is to increase understanding between the citizens and the police department through education. Students are provided with information and training to dispel suspicions and misconceptions concerning the Galveston Police Department.
The Citizen's Police Academy (CPA) is led by the Community Service Division, with all lectures and activities being taught by police officers whose current assignments are directly involved in the policing activities covered in their segment of the Academy.

Who Can Attend Citizens who reside or work in the City of Galveston who; 1. Are over 18 years of age and out of high school 2. Possess a valid Texas driver's license, 3. Successfully complete a criminal history check.

When Does The Academy Classes Meet
The Citizen's Police Academy is held once a year (dates vary). The academy is fourteen (14) weeks and meets every Wednesday evening from 6:30pm - 9:00pm.
