Galveston Municipal Court


General Information:

Hours:
The Galveston Municipal Court's working hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:40 p.m. However, the Court is in session to hear cases every Monday thru Friday, except holidays, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Lobby Hours:
Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Phone Hours:
Phone lines are answered between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

General Payment Information

  • Payments shall be made by cashier's check, money order, or cash. Do not mail cash. Credit card payments can be made by calling 1-800-530-8084. To pay by credit you must know your full balance as only full balances can be processed by the credit card system. Your ticket balance can be obtained by calling 409-765-3740.


  • You may pay online by visiting www.officialpayments.com. A convenience fee will be charged for both credit card and Internet payments. All citations are given a due date. You must notify the court of your intentions on or before the given due date. If the due date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or City Holiday, you will be given until the following work day to submit payment or intentions.

Failure to Respond and Answer Citations as Required by Law May Result in Any One or Several of the Following:

 A. The issuance of a warrant of arrest at an additional  fee.
 B. Referral of the unpaid fine to a collection agency.
 C. Denial of renewal of your driver's license by DPS  and be assessed additional fees.
